"The Medium is the Message"

Our example was found on Facebook.com, but in order to get the link we went to the site where the video was originally posted, which was abcnews.go.com. The title of the video is "Trump holds listening session with students on mass shootings." Hallimah Abdullah wrote this piece. This is about several families and survivors who are demanding safety in schools to create a recognizable change. These real life bystanders have a meeting with president, Donald Trump, in hopes that something will be done to create a safer enviroment for not only children/teens, but teachers and other staff as well.

Some ways we think this example connects to the phrase "the medium is the message" are, the way the message is percieved does not allow you to voice your own opinion in the sense that, you feel sorrow for these people and with that sorrow comes a feeling that you wish you could have done something to prevent what happened, therefore you also believe that something needs to be done. Another way in which this example connects to the phrase above is the title grabs your attention while scrolling through your social media and after watching the video it alters the way in which we view the world because it has such a great emotional impact. Technology and social media have a way of reaching out to the world. Live footage was taken by students inside the school during the shooting and posted to the media. Due to the violent content the videos were removed, but for the amount of time they were on the web, people were able to watch and connect to the feelings of those affected.
